Photography Modeling

Hi, this is Cindy Heartlee and I'm here for another article titled "Photography Modeling". I thought of doing this article for the fact that many females want to be or at least wants to experience modeling, mainly on ramp, video and photo. Most of us who want to get started in modeling worry about a lot of things, like height, body structure, imperfect skin and that sort of things. First of all, we don't need to be perfect to be a model, there are specific requirements for each modeling project like age, body type and so on. These requirements are not all the same as it depends on what application the project is for. For example, a talent scout will need older models for advertisement that falls on retirement insurance or elder care, younger models for kids stuff and models with extra weight for plus size products, so in any age bracket you are, any body type you have you can land on a modeling job.

In photography modeling, most of us petite and small size models have a good chance to get a project unlike in ramp and runway modeling, taller models are more favored. This is because experienced photographers know how to make their models look taller or skinnier in cases of some extra pounds showing by using effective model angles, poses and camera's point of view plus the lenses that will be used. Narrow angled lenses make us skinnier than we are so this also helps.

Conceptual Photography

One of the things you may come across in photography school is Conceptual Photography. Conceptual photography differs slightly from regular photography, in that it's about the concept or idea of the photo, rather than the subject itself. In some schools of thought, conceptual photography is actually considered to be a more artistic application than other forms of photography, because it tends to incorporate aspects of abstraction as well. Though some photography schools specialize solely in the subject of conceptual photography, most photography schools at least offer some courses in it.

Most conceptual photographers aim to communicate some type of message to their viewers. The most common types of these are political and social commentaries, as well as advertisements. When making a conceptual photograph, the artist will take the various elements that make up the subject of the photograph/concept, and place those elements in the picture in a way to communicate their ideas. Though some photographers may come upon their concept through experimentation, it's usually the concept/idea that precedes the photograph.

In the past, much conceptual photography was done by hand. Nowadays it's just as common to use computer programs like Photoshop to generate the effects found in conceptual photography, though many artists still do utilize organic conceptual photography techniques.
